The formation of the project
BEYOND - The path
In August 2005, His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Abbot Martin Werlen, head of the Benedictine Monastery in Einsiedeln, Switzerland, convened a shared ceremony of interreligious dialogue. They concurred in reminding the audience to cultivate and deepen their own religion and to search for shared values across all belief systems. We are deeply grateful for their wonderful blessings and the inspiration that the two spiritual and religious leaders statements have given us for BEYOND.
Their meaningful words inspired the two singers Regula Curti (Christian) and Dechen Shak-Dagsay (Buddhist) to realise a CD with Buddhist and Christian prayers together. A wonderful journey began. Both singers started a quest to understand their own religious tradition and to inspire each other in finding the common truth. Dechen found a source of deep wisdom for her lyrics in her father, the respected Tibetan Lama Dagsay Rinpoche. Regula on the other hand was warmly welcomed and supported by various Christian monasteries.
While singing their prayers in an overlapping and interwoven way, the two women gained a deep love and respect for each other. They met on such a deep level one beyond words and all imaginations that it is their wish to share this boundless love, joy and respect for the benefit of all beings.
Inspired by the intense energy and passion of their work, the BEYOND team found the courage to ask Tina Turner for her involvement. A role model for million of women, Tina's powerful voice, dance and music have given us comfort and courage. Inspired by Deepak Chopra, ancient scripts and masters from different cultures and her own spiritual experience she created a most touching message to introduce and sensitize the listener to the prayers and the deeper meaning of life and love. We believe that Tina takes the lead with her statement to heal and inspire, to teach and uplift.

ALL PROCEEDS ARE PASSED ON TO FOUNDATIONS
BEYOND - A charity project
The three artists are passing on all of their proceeds to their respective foundations (the TINA Foundation, the SEESCHAU Foundation and the DEWA CHE Foundation) in equal amounts. In this way, the singers are supporting intercultural, peace-promoting projects in education and research for children and youths, as well as projects for children, mothers and women in distress.
SEESCHAU FOUNDATION
Regula Curti is using her share of the proceeds within the framework of her SEESCHAU Foundation, for the benefit of intercultural educational and research projects for children and youths. A large share of the proceeds from «Beyond» went towards research and development for the music project «CHILDREN BEYOND». The projects that the SEESCHAU Foundation supports include, among others, the following:
- the construction and maintenance of an original bell forge in Alt St. Johann
– the international research project “Mind & Life” with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich for investigation of the neurological effects of meditation on the human brain
– organisations like Right To Play, which hold intercultural sports events worldwide with children and youths to promote peace, are also supported
DEWA CHE FOUNDATION
Part of Dechen Shak-Dagsay's share of the proceeds goes to the Dewa Che Foundation, which supports peace-promoting projects for children and youths inside and outside of Tibet. Among other things, this aids the existing Tsedön Clinic in East Tibet, education programmes for the advancement of talented youths, and projects for the preservation of Buddhist Tibetan culture. Current projects:
- TFH Davos (aid association for Tibetan families)
– Sewing school for Chokri, Tibet
TINA FOUNDATION
The Tina Foundation supports a children's hospital in Memphis (Tennessee, USA). The foundation also focuses on aid for solo mothers, women in distress and sick children.
